Slice of Life. The ambient API behind the journal you have always meant to keep.
A capture-anywhere ingest layer for the small artefacts that add up to a life: notes, voice memos, photos, location traces, the books you finished, the songs you replayed. Structured into a personal timeline. Searchable in a sentence. Yours, completely.
One ingest. One timeline. One private graph.
Slice of Life is an API that turns the scattered exhaust of your day into a structured, queryable artefact. You send it text, audio, images, location pings, or webhook events from any source you authorise. It returns a typed timeline entry, an embedding, a place reference (via Terra), and a placement in your personal graph.
We built it for ourselves first, to remember a hundred small things about each student without sliding into surveillance. The defaults are private-by-default, on-device-where-possible, and aggressively forgetful unless you tell us otherwise.
Common applications
- Personal journaling with friction near zero — voice memo, three taps, indexed
- Quantified-self APIs for products that respect their users
- Context store for personal AI assistants, with revocable access
- Field-research apps where one ethnographer needs to index a season's notes
Six verbs, one timeline.
| Path | Method | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/v1/slice/capture | POST | Ingest one event of any modality |
/v1/slice/timeline | GET | Read a window of the timeline, paginated |
/v1/slice/search | POST | Natural-language search across the timeline |
/v1/slice/graph | GET | Read the personal graph (people, places, projects) |
/v1/slice/forget | POST | Soft-forget a window or a tagged class of events |
/v1/slice/export | POST | Encrypted export of everything we have on you |
Three shapes, one engagement model.
Slice of Life is offered as enterprise engagements only. Pricing is part of the contract; per-capture curves and storage tiers are posted on request.

If you are building a journal, a tutor, or a memory product, do not roll your own ingest.
Slice of Life is the boring middle layer most products skip and quietly regret skipping.
