Terra. A fact-check API for systems that have to be right out loud.
Ground claims against trusted sources, return citations with provenance, surface contested or unsupported statements, and attach a calibrated confidence to every assertion. The grounding layer for any application that has to put its name on the answer.
Verify. Cite. Flag.
Verify. Send a claim or a paragraph; Terra returns each assertion broken out, paired with the sources that support or contradict it, and a confidence band built from source agreement, source authority, and recency.
Cite. Returns citations as structured records — title, author, publisher, date, URL, snippet — ready to render or to feed downstream. Citations are deduplicated and ranked by independence, not just similarity.
Flag. Surfaces the assertions where sources disagree, where the most authoritative sources are silent, or where the evidence is older than your tolerance. Flags are returned with a one-line reason an editor can act on.

Why a fact-check API is not a search wrapper.
A web search returns documents that mention a phrase. A fact-check API has to decide whether the documents support the claim. Terra is built around a curated set of source libraries — open scholarly, official statistics, primary reporting, and customer-supplied corpora — each annotated with the authority profile our system uses to weigh evidence.
You can swap libraries per request, mix open and proprietary sources, and bring your own. We tell you which library each citation came from, and we tell you when none of your trusted libraries have anything to say.
Stop shipping assertions you cannot defend.
Terra is what we wish every LLM application had baked in.
